Information to help you answer the questions about Discipline and Institute
Discipline: this is the subject or programme of studies you want to apply for. For example, medicine.Institute: this is the university or organisation offering the desired programme. For example, Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
If possible, please enter a programme and an institute. If you take an entrance exam, someone will have to mark it of course. There are about ten examiners for each subject (one from each university). Somehow, we have to decide which examiner marks the work of which candidate. To determine this, we have a look at the programme (and sometimes the general discipline) you apply for.
For the validity of the testimony or the admission to a university, it is irrelevant which examiner marks your work. The testimony is recognised nationally.
Even if you do not specify where (and what) you want to study, your work will have to be marked. In that case, the secretary of the CCVX will send your work to a random examiner so it will not remain unmarked. If you want to inspect your work later, you have to go to the institute where the examiner works. This may be far from where you live.
Sometimes, a university does not have a CCVX examiner (yet), or the examiner may be on sick leave or holiday. In that case, another examiner will (temporarily) stand in. It may happen that your testimony states another university (institute) than the one you entered when registering. This is no problem. As long as your testimony is signed by an examiner, it is a valid testimony.
